About Us

At Fizzel we make preserves and pickles for curious people! People who love food and want to try new, interesting flavour combinations.

Fizzel was launched in May 2025, and is run by Vic Watkins. Vic has been a chef for around 10 years and loved to preserves, ferment and pickle anything she can get her hands on. 

Fizzel wasn't just born out of a whim though, a bit about Vic's story: 

'I spent quite a few years building up to it, knowing I wanted to start a business selling preserves, but not sure how to go about it. I was fed up and burnt out working as a chef, struggling to find work that felt worthwhile and meaningful, whilst also feeling frustrated at the industry as a whole. A lot of kitchens I worked in felt like they were promoting values and ways of living I didn't agree with; often lots of sexism, celebration of overworking and losing yourself completely to the job. I had an opportunty to get out and start my own business, so I started Fizzel!'

Vic is commited to keeping traditional preserving techniques alive, so we make sure not to use any artificial preservatives to make all of products and we cook in small batches to keep the quality of our products high. We are constantly improving and making small changes to our recipes and and we triple check to make sure everything we package is consistently delicious! 

You may not not know... we are also plastic-free business! We are trying to be a sustainable, value driven business. We buy our ingredients and packaging off family-run businesses based in Manchester. Being sustinable and environmentally friendly is a process and we are always thinking of ways to improve this. We love what we do, making, selling and carrying out all the important jobs behind the scenes to keep our delicious products flying out to your door.
